InfiniG partners with Nokia to bring mobile coverage indoors

Los Gatos startup's neutral host platform connects buildings to all major US carriers using shared CBRS spectrum, backed by J2 Ventures

InfiniG partners with Nokia to bring mobile coverage indoors

The Los Gatos startup announced a partnership to integrate Nokia's radio equipment into its shared-spectrum platform, connecting buildings to all three major U.S. carriers without forcing property owners to cut separate deals with each.

InfiniG's pitch is straightforward enough: deploy one set of radios inside an office tower or hospital, connect them to a cloud gateway that speaks AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, then let employees' existing phones work indoors as if they'd stepped outside. The March announcement with Nokia marks the latest validation of a model that sidesteps the tangled economics of distributed antenna systems, which often require building owners to negotiate with carriers one at a time.

The company operates as what the industry calls a Mobile Coverage as a Service provider. It installs CBRS radio nodes—those shared airwaves the FCC opened up a few years back—inside venues ranging from warehouses to elementary schools, then tunnels traffic back to each carrier's core network through encrypted IPSec connections. InfiniG's cloud-native architecture broadcasts the network identifiers for all three operators simultaneously, so a subscriber's phone behaves as if it's connecting to its home network. No special SIM cards. No downloads.

"Reliable mobile coverage is no longer just about connectivity," CEO Joel Lindholm said in the Nokia announcement, pivoting to a broader sales pitch about operational insights. Matthew Young, who leads mission-critical enterprise efforts for Nokia in North America, characterized the collaboration as bringing AirScale infrastructure "to new enterprise and venue environments."

Carrier Endorsements, Quietly

AT&T and T-Mobile gave public nods to InfiniG's approach back in September 2023, when the startup launched. JR Wilson, then vice president of tower strategy and roaming at AT&T, called InfiniG's system "advanced" and efficient for mobility subscribers. Jeff Holzinger, senior director of access network development at T-Mobile, noted the same day that his company's Bring Your Own Coverage 2.0 offering "was created to support this model."

The startup now says it connects to all three major U.S. mobile operators, though it hasn't publicly named the third carrier or released separate announcements from each. Fierce Network reported in 2023 that AT&T acknowledged working with InfiniG as private wireless began replacing older distributed antenna systems in some buildings.

InfiniG says it has deployments covering over 10 million square feet across more than 50 sites, though the company declined to provide independently verified figures. Named installations include a 150,000-square-foot administration building at Arizona State University, deployed with Cox Private Networks, and Parkside Elementary School in Murray, Utah, where more than 600 students and staff gained indoor coverage. The OnGo Alliance, the CBRS industry group, recognized that Arizona State deployment with a Judge's Choice award.

The Team Behind the Platform

Lindholm's background runs through Meta, CommScope's Ruckus Wireless division, and Brocade. Co-founder and CTO Fuad Abdelaziz accumulated stops at companies that sound like a history lesson in wireless consolidation: Meta and Ruckus, yes, but also Luminate Wireless, SpiderCloud (acquired by Corning), BelAir (acquired by Ericsson), Starent (acquired by Cisco), Flarion (acquired by Qualcomm), plus stints at Nortel and AT&T.

J2 Ventures, which backs infrastructure and dual-use technology companies, lists InfiniG on its portfolio page. CB Insights shows an unattributed venture round from April 2025 with J2 participating, though neither party disclosed the amount. J2 closed a $150 million fund in July 2024 and a $250 million fund in November 2025, both aimed at infrastructure plays. The company employed between 11 and 50 people as of July 2026, according to LinkedIn data.

Infinig, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware and registered in California in March 2022, though the company's LinkedIn profile lists 2023 as its founding year. Small discrepancies like that are common among early-stage companies still figuring out their origin story.

Expanding the Ecosystem

InfiniG opened its platform to work with private enterprise cores from Nokia, Druid Software, Pente Networks, Monogoto, and Blue Arcus through an offering called InfiniG Connect. The startup also sells through AWS Marketplace and government purchasing cooperative Sourcewell, which published InfiniG pricing structures.

Competition exists, naturally. Celona announced a competing turnkey neutral host solution in September 2023, certified for T-Mobile's Bring Your Own Coverage 2.0 program and later validated by AT&T, according to the company's materials. The difference may come down to execution speed and which vendor relationships matter most to building owners making purchasing decisions.

InfiniG brought on Tom Williams as vice president of sales several months back, according to a LinkedIn post from Lindholm. The company published a whitepaper titled "Why CBRS Neutral Host Networks Are Becoming Essential for Enterprise Mobile Connectivity," part of an effort to formalize the value proposition beyond individual case studies.

The Nokia deal gives InfiniG access to carrier-grade radio equipment that enterprises and venue operators recognize. Whether that accelerates adoption depends on how quickly building owners decide that managing multiple carrier relationships isn't worth the trouble anymore.
