NudgeBee Raises $3M for AI Agents That Slash SRE Response Time

Pune-based startup lands Kalaari-led seed round to scale agentic AI platform cutting incident response from hours to minutes—with Rackspace already deployed.

NudgeBee Raises $3M for AI Agents That Slash SRE Response Time

When a production system goes down at 3 a.m., the clock starts ticking. For site reliability engineers, those first frantic hours—hunting through logs, correlating metrics, piecing together what broke—can mean the difference between a minor blip and a customer exodus.

NudgeBee, a Pune-based startup, says it's cracked the code on automating much of that chaos. The company recently closed a $3 million seed round led by Kalaari Capital, with participation from unnamed technology founders, money it plans to funnel into what it calls an "agentic AI platform" for cloud operations. Translation: software that doesn't just alert you when things go wrong, but actually tries to fix them.

The pitch is landing with at least one marquee customer. Rackspace, the managed cloud services giant, is already running NudgeBee in production—targeting 1,200 automated incident resolutions per quarter, according to the startup. If those numbers hold, it would represent a significant shift in how large-scale infrastructure gets managed.

The Six-Hour Problem

Traditional incident response follows a familiar, grinding pattern. An alert fires. Someone gets paged. Engineers gather on Slack or Zoom, sifting through mountains of telemetry data—logs from multiple services, performance metrics, distributed traces. Root cause analysis can stretch on for hours.

NudgeBee's founders, Rakesh Rajendran and Shiv Pratap Singh, claim their platform has shrunk mean time to resolution by 70 to 80 percent for early adopters. Incidents that once consumed six to eight hours now wrap in 20 to 25 minutes, the company told The Economic Times. One customer reportedly trimmed cloud spend by roughly a third within two months.

Those are the kinds of numbers that get attention in an industry drowning in both incidents and cloud bills. But they also invite scrutiny. Early customers often see outsized gains; the real test comes when the platform scales beyond a handful of carefully managed deployments.

Workflows That (Theoretically) Think

At its core, NudgeBee stitches together what it calls an agentic workflow engine with a semantic knowledge graph—a system that correlates logs, metrics, configuration changes, and application traces to power what the company describes as autonomous reasoning and action.

The architecture is model-agnostic, a hedge against the fast-moving AI landscape. It integrates with Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, and open-source frameworks like Ollama. Enterprises can deploy it on-premises or in the cloud, with role-based access controls and approval workflows baked in—guardrails meant to prevent an overeager agent from, say, shutting down production by mistake.

Founded in 2024, NudgeBee ships with more than 30 pre-built agents for cloud operations, plus integrations with the usual suspects: Prometheus, Datadog, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Slack. The pitch spans site reliability engineering, CloudOps, FinOps, even Kubernetes orchestration.

It's an ambitious scope. Perhaps more ambitious than the founders initially intended, given how quickly adjacent categories—observability, incident management, cost optimization—are blurring together.

A Crowded Field, an Open Window

NudgeBee isn't racing alone. PagerDuty expanded its AI agent ecosystem in March with templates aimed at autonomous operations. Dynatrace and New Relic have rolled out their own agentic and generative AI features for incident response. The market is heating up fast.

Timing, though, may be on the startup's side. Cloud waste is spiking. Flexera's 2026 State of the Cloud report pegged wasted spend at 29 percent of total cloud budgets, the first increase in five years—driven in no small part by inefficiencies in AI workloads themselves. Companies are spending more on infrastructure while squeezing less out of it. That creates an opening for anyone promising to automate the mess away.

The round also included participation from unnamed technology founders, according to multiple reports. NudgeBee plans to channel the capital into strengthening its enterprise context layer—the part of the system that learns the quirks and interdependencies of a particular company's infrastructure—while scaling through both channel partnerships and direct sales.

The company has begun building its profile beyond the product, sponsoring the AWS User Group Pune and exhibiting at SUSECON in Prague. Whether that community-building translates to enterprise traction remains an open question.

The Human in the Loop

For all the talk of autonomous agents, there's a tension here worth naming. Site reliability engineering has always been as much art as science—pattern recognition honed over late nights and post-mortems, institutional knowledge that doesn't fit neatly into a knowledge graph. The question isn't whether AI can handle some of the work. It's whether enterprises will trust it to handle the work that matters most.

NudgeBee's guardrails—approval workflows, audit trails, role-based controls—suggest the company knows this. Autonomy sounds great in a pitch deck. In production, at scale, with real customers on the line? Most engineering leaders still want a human finger near the brake.

The seed round gives NudgeBee runway to prove the model works beyond early adopters. But in a field this competitive, $3 million doesn't buy much time.
