AstriVax Therapeutics is a Belgian clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company founded in 2022 as a KU Leuven spin-off. It develops novel vaccines and immunotherapies using its proprietary Launch-iT (PLLAV) platform, a DNA-based technology that launches self-amplifying live attenuated viral vectors to elicit strong, durable immune responses. The platform produces thermostable vaccines with reduced cold chain requirements, making them accessible even in tropical regions. AstriVax's pipeline targets yellow fever, rabies, chronic Hepatitis B, and high-risk HPV, with its first-in-human Phase I clinical trial (SAFYR) already dosed. It raised the largest seed round in KU Leuven spin-off history and rapidly graduated to clinical-stage company within two years of founding.
