Dominic Rizzo is Founder and CEO of ZeroRISC, a hardware security company commercializing open-source silicon root of trust technology for data centers, IoT, and critical infrastructure. He is recognized as a hardware security expert and open-source silicon pioneer bridging chip-level security architecture with real-world policy frameworks.
Prior to ZeroRISC, Dominic spent years at Google where he founded the OpenTitan project in 2018, the industry's first open-source silicon root of trust, and led it through its first successful commercial silicon tapeout. He also serves as Senior Fellow for Secure Hardware and Supply Chain Trust at the Institute for Security and Technology (IST).
Dominic chairs GlobalPlatform's Trusted Open Source Silicon Task Force, aligning open silicon with global industry security standards. His conviction is that transparency in open-source silicon is a prerequisite for building truly trustworthy, secure-by-default systems at scale.
Under Dominic's leadership, ZeroRISC raised a total of $15M across two seed rounds, partnered with Nuvoton and Winbond to deliver the world's first commercially available OpenTitan-based chip in February 2024, and achieved post-quantum secure firmware signing. The company's Integrity Management Platform decouples device security from place of manufacture.
ZeroRISC's platform serves critical sectors spanning IoT, data centers, and OT/ICS infrastructure, with the OpenTitan chip becoming the first open-source design to reach widespread commercial availability. The company has attracted backing from industry luminaries including Analog Devices co-founder Ray Stata and SemiAnalysis founder Dylan Patel.
