Dr. Colin Horne is Co-Founder and CTO at Hearing Diagnostics Limited, an Edinburgh-based health-tech company developing next-generation hearing screening technology to make reliable hearing tests accessible outside specialist clinics.

Colin holds a PhD from the Medical Research Council and a BSc (Hons) in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow, and previously worked as a Software Engineer at Lokku and an Algorithms Developer at Blackford Analysis Ltd.

Colin combines deep expertise in algorithms, software engineering, digital signal processing, and hearing sciences to pioneer a paradigm-shifting approach to community-based hearing diagnostics.

As CTO, Colin led the development of Audimetroid, a proprietary hearing screening technology that can be administered in under three minutes without a soundproof booth, backed by over $2.26M in funding from Archangels and Scottish Enterprise.

Hearing Diagnostics has expanded commercial efforts across the UK and US, targeting the 466 million people worldwide affected by hearing loss, with the vision of making hearing tests as commonplace as eye tests.
