Dr. Greg Rau is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Planetary Technologies, a climate tech company pioneering ocean alkalinity enhancement for carbon removal. He is also a Senior Research Scientist at UC Santa Cruz and affiliated with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

Dr. Rau earned his MS and PhD from the University of Washington and completed postdoctoral work at UCLA and NASA-Ames Research Center. He has 40+ years of experience in carbon biogeochemistry research with over 20 years focused on CO2 management technologies.

Dr. Rau has authored 100+ papers in top journals including Science, Nature, and PNAS, and holds 6 US patents in carbon capture technology. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and his research won MIT's 2013 Climate CoLab contest.
