Dr. Karl-Anton Harms is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at CipherX Technologies, a London-based biotech startup pioneering proprietary MicroDot microneedle technology for lifestyle, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical markets.

Originally from Australia, Harms studied Medicine (MBBS) and Biomedical Science (BMedSc) at Monash University with First Class Honours in both degrees, before working as a doctor at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in reconstructive plastic and burns surgery.

Harms later relocated to the UK to pursue a PhD at Imperial College London in the Stevens Group, focusing on microneedle delivery systems, tissue engineering, and advanced therapies for wound healing.

As CTO, Harms leads the technical development of CipherX's MicroDot Technology platform, the first advanced microneedle system designed to reach the consumer market, bridging his deep clinical and research expertise in skin technologies.

CipherX has raised over $778K in pre-seed funding from investors including Antler and InnovationRCA, launched its Microdot Tattoo commercially in London, and is expanding its skin-tech platform into cosmeceuticals, transdermal drug delivery, and non-invasive health sensing.
