
Dr. Michael Baumann is Co-Founder and Co-CEO at TWAICE, a Munich-based battery analytics software company that uses digital twin technology to optimize battery performance and lifetime for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
Michael earned his Dr.-Ing. in Mechanical Engineering from Technical University of Munich in 2018, where he researched battery management systems and second-life batteries. He worked as a Research Associate at TUM from 2014 to 2018 before co-founding TWAICE.
Michael holds multiple patents in battery analytics and co-developed physics-motivated semi-empirical aging models with groundbreaking features like OCV-aging and swelling force modeling.
