Dr. Paul Jung

Dr. Paul Jung is Co-Founder and CEO of Medly AI, a London-based EdTech startup building AI-powered tutoring to democratise access to personalised education for students worldwide.
Dr. Jung holds an MD and PhD in Psychiatric Neuroscience from University College London (UCL), where his research formed the theoretical basis for Medly's AI learning agent, before leaving a career in the NHS to build the company.
Growing up in a low-income household and unable to afford private tutoring, Dr. Jung co-founded Medly with the conviction that tailored academic support should not be a privilege reserved for those who can pay for it.
As the technical co-founder and full-stack developer, Dr. Jung brings prior experience building a mental health tracking app and leverages his neuroscience research to design Medly's proprietary seven-LLM architecture that adapts to each student's unique learning patterns.
Since launching in February 2025, Medly has reached over 400,000 UK users, with the majority of students improving by at least an entire grade in one exam season, and has secured $8M in Seed funding led by Felix Capital to fuel international expansion.
