Dr. Rob Bessler is Founder of Sound Physicians, a physician-led multi-specialty medical group serving over 400 hospitals across 45 states with more than 4,000 clinicians. He currently serves as CEO of Honest Medical Group, a value-based care enablement organization.

Dr. Bessler earned a BA in Economics from Tufts University and his MD with honors from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic and MetroHealth, practicing as an emergency physician in Cleveland and Seattle.

Dr. Bessler led the development of Sound Connect, a proprietary technology platform for physicians that incorporates practice management tools and performance data. He serves on boards including LifeStance Health, BroadJump, and previously served on boards of Accelecare, DuPage Medical Group, and Liberty Health Partners.

Under his leadership as CEO and Chairman for 22 years, Sound Physicians grew from startup to $2 billion in revenue, partnering with over 450 hospitals in 47 states. The company was acquired by Summit Partners and Optum in 2018 for $2.2 billion.

Sound Physicians manages approximately 6% of all acute medical hospitalizations in the U.S. and became one of the largest participants in Medicare's bundled payment initiative. Dr. Bessler and his wife Michele founded the Bessler Center for Community Child Health in 2022 to achieve the healthiest children in Pierce County.
