Dr. Shawn Shen is Co-Founder of Memories.ai, an AI research lab building the world's first Large Visual Memory Model (LVMM) to give AI human-like visual memory capabilities.

Shen earned his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, where his research centered on multimodal systems connecting vision, language, and context, before joining Meta Reality Labs as a Research Scientist.

Shen identified a critical gap in AI: current systems are highly intelligent but lack persistent long-term visual memory, a problem he set out to solve by co-founding Memories.ai alongside fellow Meta researcher Enmin Zhou.

At Meta Reality Labs, Shen and his co-founder published four top-tier research papers in a single year; he now also serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Bristol while leading Memories.ai's technical vision and business strategy.

Memories.ai raised $16M in seed funding from Susa Ventures, Seedcamp, Fusion Fund, and Crane Venture Partners, secured a strategic partnership with NVIDIA, and outperformed Google and OpenAI on the MVBench video understanding benchmark.
