Eben Frankenberg

Eben Frankenberg is Co-Founder and CEO of Echodyne, a radar technology company pioneering metamaterials-based radar systems for defense, autonomous vehicles, and critical infrastructure.
Eben holds an M.S. in Geophysics from Stanford University and a B.A. Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College, and began his career as a petroleum geophysicist at BP Amoco.
At Intellectual Ventures, he served as EVP and COO, incubating groundbreaking companies including TerraPower (nuclear power), Kymeta (satellite communications), and Evolv Technologies (security imaging). At Onyx Software, he led the company from $2M to $160M in annual revenue and from basement startup to NASDAQ-listed company.
Echodyne has raised over $195M from investors including Bill Gates, Baillie Gifford, NEA, Madrona Venture Group, and Northrop Grumman. The company introduced its first radar in 2017 and opened a new 86,350-square-foot manufacturing facility in 2026 capable of producing 30,000 radars annually.
Eben was named Businessman of the Year 2022 by Battlespace magazine for advancing radar technology. Echodyne's patented MESA technology delivers high-performance radar at commercial price points, serving militaries, agencies, and critical infrastructure globally with applications in counter-drone defense, border security, and autonomous systems.
