Eddie Koai

Eddie Koai is the Co-Founder and CEO of District, an AI-powered commerce platform that enables creators, entrepreneurs, and brands to build and grow world-class online commerce businesses without writing code.
Eddie studied Economics and Business Administration at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, then spent years at Boston Consulting Group before becoming a product lead at Snap Inc., where he honed deep expertise in social and consumer product development.
Drawing on his time at Snap, Eddie recognized that commerce naturally emerges wherever communities form around shared interests, and set out to replace makeshift selling tools with a scalable, AI-driven infrastructure for independent businesses.
Eddie co-founded District alongside fellow Snap alumni Patrick Mandia and Khoi Tran, building quietly for three years before launching in General Availability and securing a $14.7M seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz and Kindred Ventures.
District has onboarded over 1,000 businesses onto its platform, with community marketplaces like Niknax generating more than $5M in sales across 5,000-plus sellers, demonstrating the real-world power of community-driven commerce at scale.
