Dr. Emily Lee is Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Wavelet Medical, a Yale-born healthtech company pioneering the first non-invasive, AI-powered fetal electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring platform to detect fetal brain distress in real time.
Dr. Lee earned her MD and FACOG designation, trained as an obstetrician-gynecologist affiliated with Yale New Haven Hospital, and serves as Assistant Professor Adjunct at Yale School of Medicine, bringing deep clinical expertise in maternal-fetal medicine.
Dr. Lee was recognized with a 2024 Blavatnik Award by Yale Ventures for her groundbreaking work, and has received international recognition from the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG).
At Wavelet Medical, Dr. Lee leads the clinical strategy behind a platform that uses AI algorithms to reconstruct fetal EEG signals from the maternal abdomen, creating a new standard of care beyond traditional fetal heart rate monitoring.
Wavelet Medical has secured $7M in seed funding from Aegis Ventures, is being piloted at Yale University, LA General Hospital/USC, and South Korea's Yonsei University Health System, and won the MedTech Innovator 2025 Value Award.
