Emir Karabeg

Emir Karabeg is the Co-Founder and CEO of Sim (sim.ai), an open-source platform to build and orchestrate AI agent workflows, backed by Y Combinator's X25 batch.
Emir studied Data Science and Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley, where he conducted NLP research for machine translation, and went on to build WorkNinja, an AI learning platform with 300,000+ monthly active users.
WorkNinja was one of the first LLM chain-of-thought applications deployed at scale in December 2022, showcasing Emir's early conviction in applied AI. Born in California with roots in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he brings a unique global perspective to building developer-first AI infrastructure.
Sim raised a $7M Series A led by Standard Capital, with participation from Perplexity Fund, SV Angel, Y Combinator, Paul Graham, Paul Buchheit, and Ali Rowghani. The platform supports teams across tech, finance, legal, and healthcare in building and deploying autonomous AI agents.
Sim has grown to 100,000+ builders and 28,800+ GitHub stars, integrating with 1,000+ apps and LLMs, and has launched Mothership, a conversational AI control plane that repositions Sim as a full enterprise AI workspace.
