Eric Nilsson

Eric Nilsson is Co-Founder and CTO at Meteoric (YC S26), a deep-tech startup building autonomous drones that clear clouds over solar farms and ultimately weaken severe storms and hurricanes.
Eric earned his MEng from the University of Cambridge, specialising in Electrical, Electronic, Control, and Computer Engineering, and conducted master's research on microfluidic chips that control water and droplet-removal hardware for LiDAR lenses.
Eric placed 4th nationally in the British Physics Challenge and brings rare expertise in capacitive sensing for digital microfluidics, giving Meteoric a distinctive edge in atmospheric droplet manipulation.
Prior to co-founding Meteoric, Eric worked on capacitive sensing for digital microfluidics at the University of Cambridge and developed droplet-removal systems for LiDAR lenses, directly informing the core technology behind Meteoric's drone platform.
Meteoric's prototype has demonstrated a 13% dissipation of an artificial cloud in controlled cloud-chamber tests, with the company targeting its first large-scale cloud-clearing flight in 2027 and projecting a 10-30% increase in annual solar output for utility-scale farms.
