Eric Silver Scholem is Co-Founder and CEO of Mass Magnetics (YC S26), a domestic rare-earth magnet manufacturer producing high-performance permanent magnets from recycled scrap for robotics, defense, and aerospace markets.

Eric previously founded Pendulum Technologies in Columbus, Indiana, focused on advanced alternative-chemistry battery systems for industrial use, and holds a Bachelor of Finance from Indiana University Bloomington.

Eric identified that America's fastest path to rare-earth independence is not mining but vertically-integrated recycling, a contrarian bet that sits at the intersection of national security and advanced manufacturing.

Prior to Pendulum, Eric built expertise coordinating with international manufacturing facilities and gained deep insight into supply chain vulnerabilities across energy and materials sectors, work that directly informed Mass Magnetics' mission.

Mass Magnetics has trained AI vision systems to recover rare-earth metals from post-consumer streams, enabling end-to-end magnet production with 1/100th the capital intensity of a mine, serving defense and aerospace clients who require DFARS-compliant domestic supply.
