Farhan Khan

Farhan Khan is the CEO and Founder of Shotwell.ai, a Y Combinator-backed startup building the quality layer for robotics training data through automated dense annotations and AI-powered quality checks.
Farhan built deep expertise in autonomous systems, previously working on self-driving cars at Tesla and humanoid robots at Sunday Robotics, giving him firsthand insight into the data quality challenges facing robotics teams.
Farhan recognized that data quality is the single biggest lever in improving robot model performance, and set out to build automated models that produce annotations at a fraction of the cost with instant turnaround.
At Shotwell.ai, Farhan leads a team of four co-founders including Ali Abdalla, who previously co-founded Gradio, the open-source ML tool acquired by Hugging Face and used by over 1 million developers monthly.
Shotwell.ai is part of Y Combinator's 2026 batch, positioning it at the forefront of the robotics data infrastructure wave as demand for high-quality training data accelerates across the humanoid and autonomous systems sector.
