Francisco José Espinosa

Francisco José Espinosa is Co-Founder and Director of Mechanical Engineering at Arkadia Space, a pioneering green in-space propulsion company based in Castellón, Spain.
Francisco studied at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and previously worked at PLD Space alongside his co-founders, where the team led development of propulsion systems and rocket engines for over four years.
Described as a meticulous and highly efficient Mechanical Design Engineer, Francisco brings deep expertise in spacecraft mechanical systems and green propellant technologies to Arkadia's mission.
At Arkadia Space, Francisco co-leads the mechanical engineering of green propulsion systems, contributing to the in-orbit validation of the DARK system in 2025 and securing four ESA contracts.
Arkadia has raised over €17.3M in total funding, achieved the first European hydrogen-peroxide-based propulsion system in orbit, and secured a commercial contract with MaiaSpace, ArianeGroup's reusable launch vehicle programme.
