Gavin Uberti

Gavin Uberti is Co-Founder and CEO of Etched, a semiconductor company building frontier inference clusters and ASICs designed exclusively for transformer architectures to run the world's most advanced AI models faster and more efficiently.
Gavin dropped out of Harvard University, where he studied Mathematics and Computer Science, and previously worked at OctoAI as an engineer developing software to improve AI model performance, as well as at Xnor and Coursedog.
Gavin and his co-founders became Thiel Fellows and pioneered the bold thesis that hardwiring transformer models directly into silicon bypasses complex software constraints and fundamentally reduces inference costs at scale.
Under Gavin's leadership, Etched raised $700M at a $21B valuation from investors including Jane Street, Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Peter Thiel, and Blackstone, and has secured over $1B in customer contracts.
Etched shipped its first hardware rack to Jane Street and has grown to a 400-person team, with its Sohu chip achieving state-of-the-art throughput, latency, and power efficiency on AI inference workloads.
