George Rose

George Rose is Co-Founder and CEO of Rise Reforming (YC S26), a cleantech startup commercializing modular technology to convert domestic biogas and plastic waste into low-carbon chemicals.
George studied Molecular Engineering on the Chemical Engineering track at the University of Chicago, where he developed a passion for climate-combatting technologies and conducted undergraduate research at the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering.
George was named a Climate Fellow by the 776 Foundation, led by Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian, recognizing his leadership in making sustainability cost-competitive for entire industries.
Prior to Rise Reforming, George interned at Mantel, GenH, Highland Electric Fleets, the Sierra Club, and Nexamp, building deep expertise across the clean energy and climate tech landscape.
Rise Reforming has raised $400,000 in early funding, won first place in the DOE EnergyTech University Prize 2024, and took home the European Aerosols Federation 2025 Start-Up Award, presenting as the youngest team at Paris Packaging Week.
