Guillaume Horréard

Guillaume Horréard is Co-Founder and CEO of En Carta Diagnostics, a Paris-based DeepTech startup pioneering a new generation of at-home molecular diagnostics built on synthetic biology. He co-founded the company alongside CTO Margot Karlikow with a shared mission to democratize access to accurate, affordable diagnostics for patients everywhere.
Guillaume studied at Ecole Centrale Paris, an elite French engineering school whose alumni network later backed En Carta through CentraleSupélec Venture. The technology underpinning En Carta was originally developed by researchers from Harvard Wyss Institute, the Institut Pasteur, and Centrale Paris, providing Guillaume with a world-class scientific foundation to build upon.
Guillaume has championed the vision that laboratory-grade PCR accuracy and rapid-test simplicity need not be mutually exclusive, driving En Carta to develop results in under 30 minutes without specialist equipment. His leadership secured a Creative Destruction Lab graduation and incubation at Paris Biotech Santé and 50 Partners Santé, placing En Carta at the heart of France's biotech ecosystem.
Under Guillaume's leadership, En Carta raised €1.5M in pre-seed funding in 2024, followed by a €5M first closing in 2026 led by Blue Forest Ventures with Ring Capital, Bpifrance, and existing investors. The company also secured a €13M co-development and commercialization partnership with AAZ-LMB for rapid molecular STI tests across Europe.
En Carta received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation in January 2026 and is running two clinical trials for its Lyme disease diagnostic in Boston, USA and Bialystok, Poland. The company's platform targets over 50 million people who show signs of a tick bite annually, with Lyme disease incidence growing at 22.5% per year.
