Hazem Ben-Gacem

Hazem Ben-Gacem is Founder and CEO of BlueFive Capital, a global investment platform with $4.4 billion in assets under management focusing on private equity, infrastructure, and real estate across high-growth markets. Based in Abu Dhabi and registered with Abu Dhabi Global Market, the firm targets opportunities in the GCC, Asia, and Latin America.
Hazem holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard University and spent over 30 years at Investcorp, serving as Co-CEO from 2018 to 2024 where he led over 40 private equity investments globally. He began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston's M&A team in New York in 1994.
Hazem serves on the Executive Boards of Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Oxford University's Middle East Centre, and the Dean's Council of Harvard Medical School. He was a member of Tunisia's National Shooting team and won bronze at the 2017 African Shooting Championships.
Since founding BlueFive Capital in November 2024, Hazem has raised $3 billion for the Onyx Fund I targeting AI and biotech in the US and Europe, and $2 billion for the Reef Fund I focused on GCC private equity. The firm operates offices across London, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Singapore, Beijing, Riyadh, and Jeddah.
BlueFive Capital has grown from inception to $4.4 billion in AUM within 15 months, leading major transactions including a $230 million seed round for Mal (the largest in MENA) and serving as GP for a $4.6 billion China-backed industrial fund. The firm is backed by sovereign capital including Bahrain's Mumtalakat sovereign wealth fund.
