Henrique Hoeltgebaum, Ph.D., is Co-Founder and Chief AI Scientist at Soma Energy, an AI-driven energy intelligence platform helping power producers and data centers optimize energy assets in real time.

Henrique holds a BSc in Statistics from UFRGS and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from PUC-Rio, and completed a visiting PhD at the Statistics Department of Imperial College London, where he specialized in forecasting and applied statistics.

He is a recognized expert in AI-driven time-series forecasting and anomaly detection applied to energy systems and cybersecurity, with research affiliations including the Alan Turing Institute.

As part of the former AWS energy team, Henrique co-founded Soma Energy alongside CEO Ath Caramanolis and CTO Mario Souto, collectively bringing over 20 years of experience trading power across major U.S. energy markets.

Soma Energy has deployed 2 gigawatts of optimized assets across the U.S., serves five data center customers including H5 Data Centers, and raised $7 million in seed funding to accelerate North American expansion.
