Henry Brindle

Henry Brindle is Co-Founder and VP of Engineering at BioScout, a Sydney-based AgTech company pioneering AI-powered airborne crop disease detection to help farmers protect yields and reduce chemical use.
Henry studied Engineering and Commerce at the University of Sydney (graduating 2019), where he joined a research team in 2017 as an honours student focused on mechanically engineering sensor units to detect airborne pathogens and spores.
Henry is a mechanical engineer and rapid prototyping specialist whose hardware expertise was instrumental in designing BioScout's autonomous field-deployed sampling devices. His deep technical skill set in mechanical engineering and optics has been cited by investors as a key signal of founder-market fit.
Henry co-founded BioScout in 2019 alongside Lewis Collins, Saron Berhane, and Josh Wilson, and has led the engineering function as VP of Engineering, guiding the team through multiple funding rounds including an AU $3M Seed round backed by Stoic VC, Artesian, GrainInnovate, and Uniseed.
BioScout has grown to over 30 employees, secured 3 registered patents, and its technology has demonstrated the ability to help growers cut spraying runs and reduce fungicide use, with the potential to improve crop yields by up to 18% and reduce fungicide applications by 75%.
