Howie Liu

Howie Liu is Co-Founder and CEO of Airtable, an AI-native low-code platform that enables teams to build custom business applications without coding. Liu has led the company to serve over 500,000 organizations and achieve a valuation of $11 billion.
Liu graduated from Duke University in 2009 with degrees in mechanical engineering and public policy. He co-founded CRM startup Etacts in 2010, which was acquired by Salesforce within a year, where he then led the social CRM product.
Liu co-founded Airtable in 2013 with Andrew Ofstad and Emmett Nicholas, inspired by his experience at Salesforce to create a flexible platform accessible to non-technical users. He is also an angel investor in 16 startups and previously served as an advisor at Freestyle Capital.
Under Liu's leadership, Airtable raised $1.36 billion in total funding and achieved cash flow positivity in 2024 while maintaining 30% annual growth. The platform is used by 80% of Fortune 100 companies including Amazon, Netflix, and Nike.
Liu recently led a radical transformation of Airtable to become AI-native, reorganizing the entire company and becoming an IC CEO who codes daily. The company achieved over $100 million in free cash flow and launched Airtable Cobuilder, which became their most rapidly adopted feature.
