Ilan Zerbib is Founder and CEO at Sapiom, a San Francisco-based startup building financial infrastructure that enables AI agents to autonomously purchase software, APIs, data, and compute resources.

Ilan holds a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from Telecom ParisTech and a Master's in Computer Science from Ecole des mines d'Ales. He spent nearly five years as Director of Engineering for Payments at Shopify, where he scaled Shop Pay to over $100B in GMV and built Shop Cash from the ground up.

Ilan previously founded Earny, a fintech startup that was acquired in 2021. He has over 14 years of experience as an engineering leader and entrepreneur in the payments and fintech space.

Sapiom raised $15.75M in seed funding led by Accel, with participation from Gradient Ventures, Array Ventures, Okta Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Anthropic, Coinbase Ventures, Formus Capital, and Operator Collective. The company is targeting vibe-coding platforms and AI agent builders as initial customers.

During his tenure at Shopify, Ilan led engineering teams that processed over $100 billion in GMV through Shop Pay. At Sapiom, he is building the financial layer to enable the next trillion buyers, which he believes will be AI agents rather than humans.
