Innocent Bigega is the Founder of Algosys, a Ugandan core banking software startup that provides lending and financial management infrastructure to lenders, SACCOs, and microfinance institutions across Uganda.

Bigega co-founded Algosys in 2024 alongside Simon Tayebwa, identifying a critical gap in accessible and affordable core banking technology for underserved financial institutions in East Africa.

Bigega built Algosys with a mission to modernize lending infrastructure for institutions operating in fragmented financial ecosystems where traditional credit data is often incomplete or inaccessible.

Under Bigega's leadership, Algosys grew rapidly to serve 22 financial institutions and facilitate over 10,000 SACCO loans within just two years of founding, demonstrating strong product-market fit.

Algosys was acquired by Nigerian fintech CreditChek in September 2026, now operating as a subsidiary and expanding its reach across East Africa as part of a full-stack lending infrastructure platform.
