Ishaan Gangwani is Co-Founder at Synthetic Sciences (YC W26), an AI platform that orchestrates co-scientists to automate research workflows from literature reviews to GPU training and LaTeX paper writing. The San Francisco-based company raised $1.5 million including $500,000 from Y Combinator.
Ishaan studied at Indus International School in Pune and has published research at NeurIPS 2025 LLM Evaluation Workshop. He previously founded Ishaan Trading, an algorithmic trading firm specializing in Indian Index Derivatives, and had his research paper accepted at MIT URTC 2024.
At 18 years old, Ishaan became one of the youngest founders accepted to Y Combinator W26. He has experience as a Computational Imaging Researcher at UC Berkeley and co-authored the PEBBLE benchmark for evaluating AI tutoring systems.
Synthetic Sciences enables end-to-end research execution including hypothesis framing, literature synthesis, experiment planning, and manuscript drafting. The platform integrates with GitHub, Hugging Face, Weights & Biases, and other research tools.
The company is building RL environments and process-based training data for LLMs, starting with agentic coding environments for ML research workflows. Synthetic Sciences serves individual researchers and research teams with persistent, stateful agent environments.
