Ivan Espinosa

Ivan Espinosa is President and CEO of Nissan Motor Corporation, appointed in April 2025 to lead the company's turnaround during a critical period. He launched Re:Nissan, a comprehensive recovery plan to reduce costs, redefine product strategy, and strengthen partnerships.
Espinosa holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and business administration from Tecnologico de Monterrey and completed Harvard Business School's executive education program. He joined Nissan in 2003 and spent over 20 years in strategic roles across Mexico, Thailand, Switzerland, and Japan.
Espinosa is a passionate car enthusiast who drives a Nissan Z and plays guitar and drums. His leadership mantra centers on three key words: speed, stability, and empathy.
As Chief Planning Officer before becoming CEO, he managed global product strategy and portfolio, leading product planning initiatives with expertise in electric vehicles and market development. He previously served as VP of Product Planning for Nissan Europe and held leadership roles in Mexico and Latin America.
Under his leadership, Nissan is implementing a turnaround plan to reduce annual costs by $2.7 billion while developing new vehicles in 37 months. He aims to transform Nissan into a leaner, more agile, innovation-led company prepared to thrive in the evolving mobility landscape.
