Jake Heller

Jake Heller is Co-Founder and CEO at Casetext, an AI legal research platform acquired by Thomson Reuters for $650 million in 2023. He now serves as Head of Product for CoCounsel at Thomson Reuters.
Jake graduated from Stanford Law School in 2010 where he was president of Stanford Law Review, then clerked for Judge Michael Boudin on the 1st Circuit Court of Appeals and worked as a litigator at Ropes & Gray for two years.
Jake grew up in Silicon Valley and started programming at age 9 with his father who founded an early internet company. He combines deep legal expertise with technical skills, having built websites and coded since childhood.
Casetext was founded in 2013 and went through Y Combinator, raising over $67 million across multiple rounds including Series C funding of $25 million in 2022. The company serves over 10,000 law firms and corporate legal departments with its AI legal assistant CoCounsel.
