Jakub Szlaur

Jakub Szlaur is Co-Founder and CEO of Edmund, a Czech AI startup building intelligent troubleshooting infrastructure for industrial manufacturing, helping factories cut diagnostic times by up to 90%.
Jakub studied Industry 4.0 at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava and previously worked as a Software Engineer at Festo CZ, where he gained firsthand exposure to the complexity and inefficiencies of factory floor operations.
The idea for Edmund was born during a sleepless night cramming for finals, when Jakub realised that large language models could radically simplify complex technical problems in industrial environments.
Jakub co-founded Edmund in 2023 alongside Benjamin Przeczek and Miroslav Marek, secured a EUR 500K pre-seed round, and most recently closed a EUR 2.5M seed round led by FORWARD.one with University2Ventures and Tensor Ventures.
Edmund's platform is deployed across multiple European factories, helping customers like Amcor Flexibles cut repair times by 26% and saving approximately 440 man-hours per factory annually, with expansion into US markets underway.
