James Junesik Choi

James Junesik Choi is Co-Founder and CSO at Fether Labs, a London-based deep tech startup pioneering biomechanical wrist sensors that translate hand and tendon movement into precise digital commands.
James earned a B.S.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Acoustics at the University of Oxford.
James brings over 15 years of dedicated research in mechanical sensors and therapeutic ultrasound, serving simultaneously as an Associate Professor in Bioengineering at Imperial College London.
In 2013, James founded the Non-invasive Surgery and Biopsy Laboratory at Imperial College London, where Fether Labs was later spun out, backed by investors including the a16z Scout Fund and Purple Ventures.
