Jan Chorowski

Jan Chorowski is Co-Founder and CTO at Pathway Technology Inc., a live AI infrastructure company building post-transformer architectures that enable AI systems to think, reason, and learn in real time.
Jan earned his M.Sc. from Wroclaw University of Technology and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville, later becoming a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Wroclaw before transitioning to industry.
A pioneer in deep learning, Jan was the first researcher to apply attention mechanisms to speech recognition, a breakthrough that helped shape the modern field of sequence-to-sequence learning.
Prior to co-founding Pathway, Jan conducted research at Google Brain, Microsoft Research, and MILA, where he collaborated directly with AI luminaries Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio.
Pathway's live AI platform is deployed in production by organizations including NATO and La Poste, and its developer community spans over 100 countries globally.
