Janak Panthi

Janak Panthi is Co-Founder and CTO at Salem Robotics, a deep-tech startup building autonomy and data software for autonomous inspection operations in hazardous industrial facilities.
Janak is a doctoral student in robotic manipulation at The University of Texas at Austin, with six years of industry experience spanning automation, design, application engineering, and research and development.
A strong advocate of first-principles thinking and hands-on problem-solving, Janak has developed novel Inverse Kinematics algorithms and machine learning frameworks deployed on Boston Dynamics Spot robots.
Prior to Salem Robotics, Janak served as a Graduate Student Researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, contributing to national security research, and held engineering roles at Festo, Mack Studios, and Henderson Products.
Salem Robotics has secured $1.6M in systems sold to the U.S. Department of Energy, with the platform built by Los Alamos robotics veterans targeting nuclear and other hazardous industries.
