Jason Wright

Jason Wright is Managing Partner & Head of Investments at Ariel Project Level, a women's sports focused investment fund that has raised $250 million. He brings a unique combination of NFL experience, McKinsey partnership, and sports management expertise to investing in the undervalued women's sports sector.
Wright earned a BA in Psychology from Northwestern University where he was an Academic All-American running back, then played 7 years in the NFL before earning his MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He spent 7 years as a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he co-led the Black Economic Institute and spearheaded the firm's anti-racism and inclusion strategy.
Wright was the first Black president in NFL history when he served as President of the Washington Commanders from 2020 to 2024, making him the youngest team president in the league at age 38. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Union Theological Seminary and is passionate about the intersection of theology, economics, and social equity.
At McKinsey, Wright advised Fortune 500 companies on organizational transformation, workplace culture, and diversity initiatives while rising to Partner in the operations practice. As Commanders President, he led the franchise's rebranding and modernization, hiring diverse leadership from organizations like the Obama Foundation, Roc Nation, and Real Madrid.
Project Level launched in January 2025 and completed its first close at $250 million in February 2026, matching Monarch Collective as the largest fund dedicated exclusively to women's sports. The fund has invested in the NWSL's Denver Summit FC expansion team and League One Volleyball, capitalizing on women's sports revenues that grew 300% to $1.28 billion globally in three years.
