Javier A. García Sedano is Founder and CEO of OPTIMITIVE, a pioneering AI-powered industrial optimization company serving energy-intensive process industries globally. He holds a degree in Physics specializing in Electronics and Automation from Universidad del País Vasco and has over 30 years of experience in Industrial IT and Automation.

Javier worked at IBERDROLA Engineering, ORMAZABAL Group, and served as Research Team Leader at TECNALIA Research Corporation for 4 years before founding OPTIMITIVE in 2008. He has been a reviewer of R&D projects for the European Commission since 2001.

Javier is an expert in Artificial Intelligence applications, Machine Learning, and optimization algorithms for industrial processes. He completed the Advanced Management Program at IE Business School to strengthen his executive leadership skills.

Under Javier's leadership, OPTIMITIVE secured strategic investment from CEMEX Ventures in April 2025 and has raised $1.93M in total funding. The company operates globally across Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia with offices in Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, and expansion into the USA.

OPTIMITIVE's proprietary AI software delivers real-time closed-loop process optimization that can autonomously adjust set points in autopilot mode, helping clients reduce energy consumption and increase production efficiency by up to double-digit percentage points. The company serves major industries including cement, chemical, power generation, oil and gas, and pulp and paper sectors.
