Jay Azhang

Jay Azhang is the Founder of Nof1, a frontier AI research lab training specialized models for financial markets, and a prominent voice in the emerging field of agentic finance.
Jay studied Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University and built a multidisciplinary background across engineering, finance, and biology, including roles as a Quantitative Analyst at JPMorgan Chase and Lead Quantitative Analyst at Vitol Group.
Jay previously ran a solo GP fund that grew from $3M to $20M in AUM, and has been involved in ventures including NewCompute and Nextround.xyz, reflecting his deep interest in networked finance and AI-driven markets.
At Nof1, Jay launched Alpha Arena, a live benchmark pitting frontier AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI against each other in autonomous real-capital trading competitions, attracting a $15M funding round co-led by Nasdaq-listed SUI Group and London-based hedge fund Karatage.
