Jermaine Zhao

Jermaine Zhao is Co-Founder of Libra Robotics, a Y Combinator-backed (S26) construction robotics company building autonomous robot squads for solar farm deployment. Libra is tackling the $1T+ infrastructure buildout challenge by replacing manual solar installation labor with intelligent, multi-robot systems.
Jermaine studied Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science at Stanford University, where he spent years in leading AI, robotics, and construction labs. He previously built and deployed agricultural robots from scratch, giving him rare full-stack hardware and software expertise.
Jermaine is a full-stack robotics engineer whose interdisciplinary background across ME, EE, and CS enables him to own every layer of the robotics stack. Libra's patent-pending innovations in purpose-built hardware, multimodal sensing, and physical AI form a core competitive moat.
At Libra Robotics, Jermaine co-founded and helped launch two robot generations (Libra 001 and Libra 002 series) within weeks of the YC S26 batch. The company operates on a Robotics-as-a-Service model, requiring no upfront robot purchase from EPC customers.
Libra has completed a first-of-its-kind live field demonstration at a solar robotics demo day in Texas and has five projects in the pipeline with Tier 1 EPCs across the U.S., Europe, and Australia. One paid U.S. project is currently in execution, with R&D partnerships established with 3+ leading solar racking and fastening companies.
