Jesse Pollak is Head of Base and Base App at Coinbase, leading the teams building Base Chain, a decentralized Ethereum L2, and Base App for onchain experiences.

Jesse studied at Pomona College and joined Coinbase in 2017 through the acquisition of Clef, a passwordless identity company he founded and ran for five years.

Jesse led Coinbase's consumer engineering team from 3 to 250 people and was named one of CoinDesk's most influential in 2023 for his work on Base.

Base launched in August 2023 and became the second largest Ethereum L2 by TVL, processing twice as many transactions as Ethereum in Q1 2024 and generating over $56 million in revenue.

Base has over 22 million active addresses, hosts more than $3.5 billion in TVL, and processes over 5 million daily transactions across DeFi, gaming, and social applications.
