Joël Belafa is Co-Founder and CEO of Biolevate, a Paris-based enterprise agentic AI company automating scientific and regulatory workflows for the life sciences industry.

Joël previously led AI platform engineering at Dataiku as Director of Engineering and AI Field Engineering, and held senior architecture and data roles at BNP Paribas and Société Générale.

Driven by a mission to reduce the time between a life-saving discovery and patient access, Joël co-founded Biolevate with a team of ex-Dataiku engineers and AI researchers committed to responsible, evidence-grade AI.

Joël has steered Biolevate from a €6M EQT Ventures-led Seed round in 2024 to a €30M Series A in 2026, co-led by RAISE France and Orange Ventures, with participation from MSD Global Health Innovation Fund and Station F.

Biolevate now serves more than a dozen enterprise customers, has filed seven patent applications across therapeutic areas, and recently opened a Boston office to anchor its US expansion.
