Johannes Hagemann is Co-Founder and CTO at Prime Intellect, a San Francisco-based AI infrastructure company building the full-stack platform for open superintelligence through decentralized, distributed training.

Johannes earned a B.Sc. in Informatik from TU Dortmund and an M.Sc. in IT-Systems Engineering from the Hasso Plattner Institute, before serving as an AI Research Engineer at Aleph Alpha where he architected a state-of-the-art distributed LLM training framework.

Johannes is a published AI researcher and first author of 'Efficient Parallelization Layouts for Large-Scale Distributed Model Training,' presented as an oral at WANT@NeurIPS 2023, and co-author on the INTELLECT-1, INTELLECT-2, and INTELLECT-3 technical reports.

Prior to Prime Intellect, Johannes served as Strategy Advisor at VitaDAO and held engineering roles at Bunch and qw-data GmbH, building deep expertise across distributed systems, AI infrastructure, and early-stage ventures.

Prime Intellect has raised over $150M including a $130M Series A at a $1B valuation led by Radical Ventures, and achieved a $100M annualized revenue run rate, with customers including Ramp and Zapier.
