Jon Pomeraniec

Jon Pomeraniec is Co-Founder and COO at The Biological Computing Co. (TBC), pioneering the world's first applied biological computing platform that integrates living neurons with modern AI to make frontier models more stable, scalable, and dramatically more energy-efficient.
Jon holds an MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, an MBA from UVA Darden School of Business, and studied at the University of St. Andrews, before serving as a Clinical Instructor in Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
A neurosurgeon-neuroscientist, Jon believes the brain is the most powerful computer ever built, and that the future of AI lies in harnessing biological intelligence rather than simply scaling silicon.
Jon and co-founder Alex Ksendzovsky built a decades-long research partnership through medical school, surgical residencies, and research roles at institutions including UMD and Penn before founding TBC in 2022 following a breakthrough in the brain's computational capabilities.
TBC emerged from stealth in February 2026 with a $25M seed round led by Primary Ventures, launched the world's first biological computing platform for computer vision and generative AI, and reported a 23-fold improvement in video model efficiency.
