Josh Wilson

Josh Wilson is Co-Founder of BioScout, a Sydney-based AgTech company pioneering AI-powered airborne disease detection technology to help farmers protect crops and reduce chemical use.
Josh studied Software Engineering and Applied Mathematics at the University of Sydney, and went on to work as a full-stack engineer at Accenture before co-founding BioScout.
Josh co-founded BioScout while completing his honours degree at the University of Sydney, alongside fellow students Lewis Collins, Henry Brindle, and Saron Berhane, driven by the urgent need to protect Australian crops from devastating fungal diseases.
BioScout raised an AU $3M seed round backed by Stoic VC, Artesian GrainInnovate, and Uniseed, and has since secured additional funding from Hort Innovation and GAAP to commercialise its world-first disease detection platform.
BioScout has deployed 60 SporeScout units across Australia in collaboration with the GRDC, with field trials demonstrating growers can cut up to four chemical sprays per season while maintaining full crop protection.
