Josiah Gruber

Josiah Gruber is CEO of Scout Space, a Reston, Virginia-based leader in space domain awareness (SDA) sensors and software enabling a new era of orbital safety and transparency.
Josiah brings over 15 years of hands-on remote sensing experience in the optical and RF domain, previously serving as RF Sensor Systems Manager at Maxar Technologies and Sensor Systems Manager at Aurora Insight.
He holds an MSc in Biomedical Optics from Dartmouth College and a BSc in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, grounding his leadership in deep technical expertise across sensor systems and aerospace engineering.
Under Josiah's leadership, Scout Space raised an $18M Series A led by Washington Harbour Partners, secured multiple U.S. Space Force TACFI contracts, and partnered with Blue Origin to integrate its flagship Owl sensor on the inaugural Blue Ring mission.
Scout Space's platform-agnostic, modular SDA architecture is deployed across LEO and GEO orbits, with an expanding distributed in-space sensor network and a new 2,600-square-foot production facility in Northern Virginia.
