Julio Vasconcellos

Julio Vasconcellos is Founder and Managing Partner at Atlantico, a leading early-stage venture capital fund focused on Latin America. He co-founded Peixe Urbano in 2010, which became Brazil's largest daily deals platform with over 27 million users.
Julio earned his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and studied finance and marketing at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He was Facebook's first employee in Brazil, serving as the first Country Growth Manager and leading the platform to its first 10 million users in the region.
Julio has been an active investor since 2011, investing in 13 unicorns globally. He co-founded two investment firms: Canary in Brazil and Graph Ventures in Silicon Valley, and served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Benchmark.
Peixe Urbano expanded to 6 countries with 1,200 employees and over $100 million in revenues before being acquired by Baidu in 2014. Following the acquisition, Julio became CEO of Prefer in San Francisco.
At its peak, Peixe Urbano sold over 1 million coupons per month and was the first Latin American company elected Best International Startup of the Year by the Crunchies Awards. Julio describes the company's cultural impact as comparable to iFood today.
