Jun Zhu is Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at ShengShu Technology, a leading multimodal AI company developing the Vidu video generation platform. He is also a Professor of Computer Science at Tsinghua University and an ACM/IEEE/AAAI Fellow.

Jun earned his PhD from Tsinghua University (2005-2009) and completed postdoctoral research at Carnegie Mellon University (2009-2011) before joining Tsinghua as faculty. He founded ShengShu Technology in 2023 with deep roots in Tsinghua's AI research community.

Jun is recognized as Bosch AI Professor at Tsinghua and has published over 100 papers with more than 29,000 citations. His research team introduced the pioneering U-ViT architecture in September 2022, laying the foundation for Vidu's technology.

ShengShu raised over RMB 600 million in Series A+ funding in February 2026 from investors including Qiming Venture Partners, Baidu, and Zhongguancun Science City. The company's Vidu platform ranks No.1 in China and No.2 globally according to Artificial Analysis.

Vidu has generated over 400 million videos and is used in more than 200 countries and regions. In 2025, ShengShu achieved more than 10x growth in both users and revenue, with clients including Tencent, iQIYI, and major gaming companies.
