Karl Bach is Co-Founder and CEO of Axle Energy, a London-based B2B energy flexibility platform connecting residential energy assets like EVs, heat pumps, and batteries to electricity markets.

Karl previously served as Head of Growth at Bulb, one of the UK's largest energy suppliers, and also held roles at M-KOPA Solar and Bain and Company, building deep expertise across energy, growth strategy, and emerging markets.

Karl co-founded Axle Energy after witnessing firsthand the fragility of fossil-fuel-dependent grids during the global energy crisis, identifying distributed home energy assets as the key to a resilient, renewable future.

Alongside co-founder and CTO Archy de Berker, Karl raised over $10.5M across a pre-seed round led by Picus Capital and a $9M seed round led by Accel, with backing from Eka Ventures and notable angels including F1 champion Nico Rosberg.

Since launching in mid-2023, Axle Energy has connected over 15,000 flexible assets totalling more than 85 MW of capacity, reaching 500,000+ UK households and 6 million+ globally through partnerships with SolarEdge, myenergi, Pod Point, and GivEnergy.
