Kartikesh Mishra

Kartikesh Mishra is the Co-Founder of Lamina Labs (YC P26), a Y Combinator-backed EdTech AI startup building the fastest visual infrastructure for educational applications.
Kartikesh is a Nepali-origin engineer who earned dual bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Engineering and Mathematics from MIT, followed by a Master of Engineering (MEng) from MIT EECS in 2025.
At MIT CSAIL, Kartikesh conducted research under Prof. Daniela Rus, training drones to follow natural language commands using reinforcement learning and computer vision. He also contributed to OLE Nepal's iOCR project, building foundational ML models to digitize educational materials.
Prior to Lamina Labs, Kartikesh developed drone autonomy software, built generative 3D vision models, and created open-source toolkits for Assembly programming education, showcasing a deep blend of applied ML and software engineering.
Lamina Labs, accepted into Y Combinator's Spring 2026 batch, is pioneering deterministic AI animation infrastructure with its product Pictor, generating mathematically precise explainer videos from a single text prompt in under eight seconds.
