Kedar Mate

Dr. Kedar Mate is Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Qualified Health AI, a digital health company building critical enterprise infrastructure to create the AI-enabled hospital of the future.
Dr. Mate earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and a bachelor's degree in History from Brown University, before serving in global public health roles at Partners In Health, the World Health Organization, and Brigham and Women's Hospital.
After 11 years at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Dr. Mate co-founded Qualified Health recognizing that scaling clinical improvements requires technology, not just manual process improvement. He is also a faculty member at Weill Cornell Medicine, a Senior Scholar at Stanford University, and co-host of the Turn On The Lights podcast with Don Berwick.
Prior to Qualified Health, Dr. Mate served as President and CEO of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), the world's leading international healthcare quality and patient safety organization, where he spent over a decade in progressive leadership roles. He has also been recognized as a Soros Fellow, Fulbright Specialist, and Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellow.
Qualified Health has raised $155M to date, including a $125M Series B led by NEA, and now supports 400,000 users representing approximately 5% of U.S. hospital revenue, with early deployments generating over $15M in measurable run-rate impact at UTMB within six months.
